About Us

McGreevys Toys Direct is family-run toy shop & newsagents in Westport, Co. Mayo. We have been in business since 1904 and are now the 4th generation to work in the shop. With the launch of our new website, we hope to offer great value toys and our friendly, small business service to a whole new audience. 

     

McGreevys started out over 115 years ago as a small corner grocery shop and over the years we have grown and changed with the times. In the 1950's, when toys were very much only for birthdays and Christmas, upstairs in the shop would be transformed into a toy showroom every November & December. In the 1970's, toys became a permanent fixture and since then, the first floor of our shop has become a large toy store, home to some of the world's best-known brands including LEGO, Our Generation, Barbie, Schleich, Siku, Britain's, Bruder, VTech and many more. We also have a large range of Board Games, Jigsaws, Arts & Crafts, Stationery and Outdoor Toys. We are committed to offering a great range of quality toys at the best value.

Downstairs in our shop in Westport is our large newsagents, selling groceries, wine, stationery, Costa coffee and our fabulous ice-cream counter. In fact, our 99's are quite famous - they were voted the best in Ireland by the Irish Times in 2015! If you're ever in Westport make sure to pop in and try one for yourself.
